Hooray, I've just sent in my last paper for my English class! I still have a speech to write and record, but the pressure to write perfectly executed sentences is off! Technical writing isn't for me, it makes my head hurt and causes anxiety- with every little detail making a difference. Constantly referring to the multiple texts for the course to decide if I remembered the rule correctly. Augh!
Thanks to my friend Caren at Diary of a Mad Housewife - I listened to her blog while working tonight. I get sick of listening to the same old stuff I have all the time so it was a nice change of pace. Except the Donny Osmond, sorry Caren but I'm not a fan. It has been a few years since I saw Wicked, and I didn't buy the soundtrack. So when I heard cute little Kristin Chenoweth singing "For Good" it made me want to see Wicked again. I'm sure I could convince a few Ya-Yas to see it again... (It's in Indy right now, so sorry I'm not.)
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you...
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for goodIt well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a hand print on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend...
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a sky bird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew youBecause I knew you...
I have been changed for good...(excerpts from 'For Good' from Wicked the musical)
Jen, I'm so glad that you enjoyed the music and come on the Donny Osmond isn't the typical Osmond Brothers fair is it? He still has a pretty good voice. I loved seeing the lyrics to For Good written out. The theme of that song is SO perfect and beautiful!
Congrats on finishing your paper!!

Hey, Wicked is in Utah right now!
And if you can get tickets, I would be happy to go with you! :)
